POWERING FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

Sustainable transportation is being developed every day, but no automotive manufacturer has seen innovation like that of this state-of-the-art facility in Normal, Illinois. But in order to fulfill their vision, they needed quality wire and cable.

On a mission to manufacture top-of-the-line electric truck and SUV vehicles built for off-road adventures, this company turned to Service Wire. Every vehicle produced by this facility is completely electric, and their models have rapidly begun to compete with other industry-leading names.

Service Wire’s reputation for quick lead times and ability to manufacture custom wire and cable solutions made it possible to get our foot in the door. Plus, our corporate headquarters in West Virginia provides quick, direct access to many prominent players in the automotive industry.

CUSTOM MADE, SILICONE-FREE WIRE & CABLE

Service Wire secured a custom, made-to-order run of three silicone-free products: 600 Kcmil XHHW-2 Tray Cable with CPE jacket, 750 Kcmil XHHW-2 Tray Cable, and 500 Kcmil XHHW-2 with jacketed galvanized interlocked armor.

These products were requested to be silicone-free, an important requirement for any automotive plant. Silicone in materials of any kind, including wire insulation, will surface when exposed to paint. This can lead to the silicone interfering with adhesive materials, including the ability for the paint to stick.

Service Wire developed a unique delivery schedule that helped facilitate the plant’s detail-oriented work schedule, delivering on-time and under budget.

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND

“We are proud to play a role in this company’s new manufacturing facility,” said Regional Sales Manager, Rodney Smith. “Our ability to design, manufacture, and ship a solution exactly to the customer’s specification, in as short as four weeks, is another example of why customers can count on Service.”

“Special production runs, custom packaging, quick shipment…you name it. Our team is equipped with the knowledge and expertise to ensure customers get a solution as unique as their need,” said Smith.

Service Wire’s involvement doesn’t end once our reels reach the jobsite. We are committed to developing long-lasting partnerships with many of our customers. To this day, Service Wire regularly supplies this customer.
