INCREASED NEED FOR CHARGING STATIONS

Electric vehicles have taken control of the road, and all major automotive manufacturers are answering the call to double down their investment in EV production and battery plants. In fact, all states and Puerto Rico have been given approval to utilize federal funding as well as state and private investments to spring-board these aggressive EV initiatives. But can the charging station infrastructure support this growing demand?

One of the big five automotive manufacturers in the world turned to Service Wire to help electrify America. They were on a mission to spend $2 billion to build thousands of EV charging stations across the country. For such a large project, they wanted to partner with the leader in XLPE single conductors, Service Wire.

LOW VOLTAGE CHARGING STATION CABLE

Service Wire worked with a regional distributor to supply hundreds of miles of 250 Kcmil, 300 Kcmil, and 500 Kcmil XHHW-2 ServicePro-X® single conductors in red and black. This cable was run underground in conduit from the transformer and switchgear to individual charging stations.

For retrofit jobs or projects still in the planning phase, Service Wire can offer custom-made ServicePlex® for charging stations. This prefab, twisted cable cuts down the number of pulls required for installation, and it can be installed in conduit or directly buried.

PREFERRED PARTNER FOR EV PROJECTS

Service Wire is an ideal partner for EV charging station projects. With three nationwide locations in Arizona, Texas, and West Virginia, we can supply low voltage power cable from coast-to-coast. Our high service levels, Buy American certification, and on-hand stock allows us to ship quicker than the competition and fast track your EV projects.
