Twisted / Aerial Cables
400 Hz Cable
XHHW-2 Copper
Applications: 400 Hz cable (6 around 1 XHHW-2) is used as a power source for mainframe computers, TV and radio station output power supply, aircraft ground power supplies at airport terminals, plus many other applications.
Description: The cable conductor shall consist of soft drawn copper, stranded, insulated with cross-linked polyethylene, type XHHW-2. These conductors are rated for 600 volts and carry a maximum temperature rating of 90° C wet/dry. The conductors are twisted in a six around one construction, commonly known as planetary wrap. Conductors will be striped per customer specifications.
Features:
•Lowers overall impedance of circuit, using multiple smaller conductors, which minimize voltage drop; a critical factor for 400 Hz computer power.
• Readily available in the commonly used sizes with minimal delivery times.
• *Has the same ratings and is handled in the same manner as any building wire.
• Geometrically balanced construction allows for a minimum of phase to phase unbalance.
• The cabled conductors allow for a single, easy, conduit pull.
Standards:
UL 44, ICEA S-95-658/NEMA WC-70
ASTM B3, B8
